ingo beach pride | ’24 festival identity

client:
ingo beach pride society

INGObeach Pride is a vibrant LGBTQ+ festival held in Ingonish Beach, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, along the world-famous Cabot Trail. This second annual celebration featured a powerhouse lineup, including Juno-winner Rêve, Ria Mae, and Lemon from Canada’s Drag Race, with performances by local favorites like Ashley MacIsaac, Tracy & Martina, Mo Kenney, Breagh Isabel, Skunk Motel, and more. After completing a small job illustrating Ingonish Beach for the 2023 festival merch, organizer Sara Bryden approached me again to execute the entire 2024 design suite.

The goal was simple: convey the energetic spirit of the weekend—one that first-year attendees lovingly referred to as “gay summer camp!” To underscore the notion of nostalgia, I drew inspiration from an art movement well-known by the mostly millennial festival-goers—Memphis. Think Saved by the Bell, Rugrats, and Taco Bell in the '90s! Neon colors, energetic patterns, and nostalgic design elements were used to bring the festival’s energy to life!
